Land presentation
The Lion King Land at Disneyland Paris will be a unique experience, specially designed for Disney World Adventure (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park). The land has been created in response to the film’s popularity in Europe and is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024 at D23 2024. In this land, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in an immersive African savannah where Simba, Pumba and Timon will experience iconic adventures, as shown in the land’s first concept art. Among the highlights of this Land, the iconic rock from the film will also be recreated and will house a flume ride, or “logs”, a long-awaited first aquatic attraction at Disneyland Paris.
The history of the land
The Lion King land was officially announced by Disney at D23 2024. This new land will replace the project initially planned for Star Wars, which was part of the Walt Disney Studios Park expansion plan launched in 2018, but which was ultimately cancelled. So, following the opening of the Marvel Avengers Campus land in 2022 and the imminent arrival of the World of Frozen land in 2026, The Lion King will be the next major addition to Disneyland Paris in the Disney Word Adventure park (formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park). Although no specific opening date has yet been announced, work is expected to begin in 2025.

What can you find in this land?
The Lion King Land at Disneyland Paris is set to welcome an attraction that is already shaping up to be a cult hit: the park’s first aquatic attraction. Inspired by Splash Mountain, this attraction will use logs to send visitors tumbling down the iconic rock from the film. It will offer an immersive experience by retracing the story of the 1994 animated classic The Lion King, from Simba’s childhood to his rise as King. This new flume ride promises to become a must-see at Disneyland Paris, combining thrills and immersion in the world of the film. In addition to this attraction, the Land will also include one or more character meeting zones, as well as restaurants and themed shops to extend the immersion in the world of the African savannah.
