What is the D23?
D23 is a major event organised by Disney, where the company unveils its latest releases and upcoming projects. Created in 2009, D23 is held every two years and brings together Disney fans from all over the world. At this event, Disney shares exclusive announcements about its films, series, theme parks, merchandise and much more. It’s a chance for fans to get a sneak preview of upcoming productions from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and other franchises. D23 is also a time to celebrate Disney’s heritage, with panels, exhibitions and meetings with the creators and artists behind the productions.
The D23 announcements for 2024 concerning films and series
2024
Agatha All Along – 18 September 2024 – Disney+ series: A new Marvel series entitled Agatha All Along will be available on Disney+ from 18 September 2024.
Moana 2 – 27 November 2024: Disney unveiled a new, fuller trailer for Moana 2 at D23, offering a more detailed look at the plot and adventures awaiting the heroine. The film is scheduled for release at the end of the year.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew – December 3, 2024 – Dsiney+ Series: Lucasfilm Ltd. has revealed the first trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The new series will launch on Disney+ on 3 December 2024.
Win or Lose – 6 December 2024 – Dsiney+ series: Pixar has also unveiled its very first series for Disney+, entitled Win or Lose. This animated series will be available on the platform from 6 December 2024.
Mufasa: The Lion King – December 2024 – Live Action: Disney has unveiled a new trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King, scheduled for release in December 2024. The film, which explores the origin of Mufasa, promises to enrich the universe of the famous The Lion King.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – March 2025 – Live Action: Disney has unveiled the first trailer for the live-action remake of Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.
Elio – Summer 2025: Pixar has also presented a new preview of its next feature film: Elio.
Zootopia 2 – November 2025: Disney has announced that Zootopia 2 will be released in November 2025. No other information has been revealed for the moment.
Dreams Production – 2025 – Disney+ series: Disney Pixar has announced the arrival of a new series inspired by the world of Vice Versa. The series will focus on the studio where Riley’s dreams are made, offering viewers an even deeper dive into the young girl’s mind. Scheduled for release in 2025, the series will be available on Disney+.
Frozen: The Musical – 2025 – Disney+ musical show: Disney has announced that the musical based on The Snow Queen will be available to stream on Disney+ in 2025.
Lilo and Stitch – 2025 – Live Action: Disney presented the first teaser for the live-action remake of Lilo and Stitch at D23. Planned for 2025, the film does not yet have a precise release date. This teaser offers a first glimpse of the new adaptation of this animated classic.
Tron: Ares – 2025: A new TRON film, entitled TRON: Ares, is scheduled for release in 2025. The film will feature characters who enter the real world. The soundtrack for TRON: Ares will be composed by Nine Inch Nails.

Toy Story 5 – Summer 2026: Disney has shared details of the next film in the Toy Story saga. Scheduled for summer 2026, Toy Story 5 will tackle a very topical issue: children’s obsession with screens.
Hoppers – 2026: Pixar has announced a new film for 2026, set in a new universe. The film will be called Hoppers. For the moment, only an initial concept illustration has been unveiled. No precise release date is yet available for this intriguing project.
The Incredibles – 2026: At D23, Pixar also announced that they are working on the next The Incredibles film. Although this project is already generating a lot of enthusiasm, no release date has yet been revealed.
