Are you curious to know which attractions dominate the magical skyline at Mickey’s in France? Which towers and rollercoasters offer the best views and the most thrills at Disneyland Paris? If so, then you’ve come to the right place!
In this article, we take a look at the skyline of Disneyland Paris to explore an often underestimated but equally fascinating aspect: the height of its attractions. More specifically, we’re going to focus on the five attractions that rise higher than any others in this enchanted kingdom. It’s important to point out that our selection criteria are based solely on the attractions’ permanent architectural and decorative features, and not on the heights reached during the ride itself. So, from majestic towers to fairytale castles, we reveal the true giants of Disneyland Paris, those that offer an imposing presence and define the park’s skyline.
Number 5 : La Cabane des Robinson
La Cabanne des Robinson, inspired by the novel ‘The Swiss Robinson’, is a tree-shaped structure rising 27 metres into the air at the heart of Adventureland. Visitors can climb the tree house, which offers different rooms to explore, each telling a part of the Robinson family story. Although not a thrill ride, it offers panoramic views over the park and is particularly popular for the tranquillity and escape it provides.
Number 4 : Big Thunder Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain, standing 33 metres high, is one of the most popular attractions at Disneyland Paris. Set in the wilds of Frontierland, this rollercoaster is designed to resemble a wild ride through an abandoned gold mine. The cars spin through landscapes of the American West, caves and rivers, offering breathtaking views and thrilling sensations.
Number 3 : Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain, located in Discoveryland, is an indoor rollercoaster that propels visitors into the Star Wars universe. At a height of 36 metres, this attraction combines thrills with a space theme, offering loops, tight turns and total immersion in the cosmos at the speed of light, all accompanied by the famous Star Wars music.
Number 2 : Sleeping Beauty Castle
Sleeping Beauty Castle, the focal point and iconic symbol of Disneyland Park, stands 50 metres high. This magnificent structure doesn’t offer the intense thrills of a rollercoaster, but it does captivate with its architectural beauty and symbolic importance. Beneath the castle, visitors can discover the lair of a sleeping dragon, which adds a touch of magic and mystery to the attraction.
Number 1 : The Tower of Terror
The Tower of Terror, inspired by the famous TV series ‘The Twilight Zone’, is one of the most iconic and tallest attractions at Disneyland Paris, standing at 63 metres. Visitors enter the dark and mysterious atmosphere of an abandoned 1930s Hollywood hotel. The attraction combines captivating history, immersive settings and cutting-edge technology for an intense free-fall experience that also offers a spectacular view of Walt Disney Studios Park, at least for those who dare to keep their eyes open!
In conclusion, our trip to the top of Disneyland Paris allowed us to admire the park’s five most imposing structures, buildings that capture the eye and stimulate the imagination. It is essential to remember that the heights mentioned here do not reflect the vertiginous peaks that can be reached on the various attraction rides, but rather the stature of the architectural elements and sets that make them up. The exploration of the verticality of Disneyland Paris does not end here, and the promise of a future article remains unfulfilled. If the opportunity arises to collect data on the maximum altitudes reached by the park’s adventurers at the heart of their journeys, I will endeavour to share this information to complete the picture of the vertical experiences that Disneyland Paris has to offer. So stay tuned for your next ascent into the world of attractions with the highest rides!
