Presentation of the attraction
Big Thunder Mountain is one of Disneyland Paris’ most iconic attractions, located in Frontierland. It’s a roller-coaster ride that takes you on a thrilling adventure through an abandoned gold mine in the 19th-century American West.
From the moment you step through the entrance, you’re immersed in a typical Wild West atmosphere, surrounded by structures inspired by the rugged geography of the southwestern region of the USA. The wagons resemble gold mine cars, adding to the authenticity of the experience.
After boarding your wagon, you begin your journey by crossing under the lake and then slowly ascending, creating dramatic anticipation. Then, suddenly, the ride turns into a frantic descent through the dark tunnels of the mine. The attraction skilfully blends thrills and immersive scenery, with tight curves, steep drops and sudden climbs.
In addition to the roller coaster experience, Big Thunder Mountain also offers spectacular views of the rest of the park, including Sleeping Beauty’s castle, creating a truly unique experience.
